Parasha Bahar - Bechukotai (On Mount - My Statutes)

from Rabbi Jack… Bible link

I think we all need to understand how God works things out in our lives; this should explain it! 1 Samuel {9:3} Now the donkeys of Kish, Saul's father, were lost. And Kish said to his son Saul, "Please, take one of the servants with you, and arise, go and look for the donkeys." {9:4} So he passed through the mountains of Ephraim and through the land of Shalisha, but they did not find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, and they were not there. Then he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they did not find them. {9:5} When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, "Come, let us return, lest my father cease caring about the donkeys and become worried about us." {9:6} And he said to him, "Look now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he says surely comes to pass. So, let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way that we should go." {9:7} Then Saul said to his servant, "But look, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread in our vessels is all gone, and there is no present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?" {9:8} And the servant answered Saul again and said, "Look, I have here at hand one fourth of a shekel of silver. I will give that to the man of God, to tell us our way." All of Israel asked Samuel for a king. God told Samuel to heed their voice. Samuel had no idea who God wanted him to choose, but God did, and look how He brought His choice to Samuel. Saul’s father’s donkeys happened to get lost, so Kish send his son and servant to find them. They travel around from place to place looking, with no success. Finally, the pair arrive near a city where Samuel was evidently staying. Saul was reluctant to go and consult Samuel about the whereabouts of the donkeys, he did not have a gift to bring Samuel, but as it happened, his servant did. The day before Samuel was told by God to expect Saul. Upon seeing him God said, “There he is,,,” Moral of this story. Nothing in our lives happens by accident. In relation to God, the means always brings us to His desired end!

I hope you are all reading the Bible plan we send out each month with us. We do not post it month by month as a command but our desire is that we are all on the same page, in the spirit, that is. It is so important for Etz Chaim and friends of Etz Chaim to worship together and reading God’s word is definitely worship! I do not know about each and everyone of you but starting the day with God’s word is starting the day with God. Our Father in Heaven may not be sitting next to us physically but taking hold of His word is touching Him. If there is any doubt in you concerning His presence in your life then just read His word ‘…His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.’ In these days of darkness, we need so much of Abbas’ light and He is all light. My prayer for us all today is that we search our hearts, our intentions and motives, our responses, even our emotions to see if there be any darkness lurking…darkness is an open door to the evil one called Satan and he has no problem busting right in! We say today, Satan the Lord rebuke you, get out and invite the light of Messiah into your day, Amen hallelujah!

Yours in Messiah Yeshua, "…while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Messiah Yeshua." (Titus 2:13)
